How did we get here?
In response to the destruction across Western North Carolina during Hurricane Helene in September 2024, and the obvious need for heavy equipment and excavating services, our founder traveled to the area and acquired rental equipment to assist during the first weeks following the disaster.
Having been blessed to support several homeowners and communities in the Swannanoa and Black Mountain areas, it became clear to him that the timeline of need for these efforts was going to exceed anyone’s expectations and would go on to be measured in years.
Long-term renting of equipment was incredibly exorbitant and not a feasible solution.
3:16 Disaster Relief was created to provide a means to obtain the resources needed to continue these services for as long as the need exists - and for whatever disaster arises in the future. Calling on others of good faith to join us in this service, we have created a way for people to provide for those in need even when they are unable to physically step away from their jobs and families to go to the affected area.
In the six months following the storm, we have assisted victims in Haywood, Henderson, Buncombe, Yancey, Mitchell, Avery and Watauga Counties. We also responded to the floods in Eastern Kentucky February 2025, traveling to Letcher, Perry, Knott and Pike counties. We have hauled hundreds of tons of gravel, repaired driveways, cleared debris, built fords, and cleared massive landslides to help victims get back to their homes.
